Laurence Summers 

I began my career as an actor and then supplemented this by becoming a teacher of Drama and English,  which means I am very comfortable working with school groups and families.  One Summer, needing some extra money, I worked on an open-top bus in London showing people the sites and telling them the history of our wonderful city. 

 However, this wasn’t enough!  I soon fell in love with the city I had lived in all my life and became hungry for more knowledge and wanted to explore further avenues, so I enrolled in a couple of courses, specialising in certain areas of London( the Square Mile and Clerkenwell), before I decided to go for broke and do the Blue Badge course, which covers London in depth plus Bath, Canterbury, Oxford, Salisbury, Stonehenge , Stratford and Windsor.  

Since completing my course, using my literary and theatrical background , I now also specialise in walks on Jack the Ripper, Charles Dickens, Sherlock Holmes and  William Shakespeare.

My approach as a guide is light-hearted yet detailed and I aim for the experience to be relaxed, fun and informative. 

So far as my credentials are concerned, I am a qualified Blue Badge guide, a member of the Guild of Registered Guides, the Institute of Tourist Guiding and am fully insured.
